WINE OF THE WEEK:
For six years now we’ve been huge supporters of
Jules Taylor wines. Jules used to make the Kim
Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, then she went out on
her own and continued to kick some serious butt.
We sell oceans of her Sauv Blanc, but there’s
another white of hers that absolutely rocks,
and it’s this week’s WOW.
The 2016 Jules Taylor Pinot Gris is amazing.
If your perception of this grape has been colored
by those cheap $5 grocery store Pinot Grigios,
then you’re in for a very pleasant surprise.
As Jules herself says, “This is a lovely textural wine
with luscious pear and stone fruit flavors, layered over
subtle creamy and nutty characters derived from the
partial wild fermentation and yeast lees ageing. It has a
richness and complexity that carries through to a lingering
dry finish.”
A wonderful aperitif or “patio wine,” this will also sing
with salads, seafood, and even spicy dishes. Just
14.97 here at NCWC.
WINESDAY FLIGHT:
The day: Wednesday, 3/29
The time: your choice, as long as it’s between 4 and 9
The cost: 1000 pennies, or ten bucks. We prefer the latter.
The wines:
Jules Taylor Pinot Gris 2016
-description about two inches above (less if you’re on a
smart phone)
Carlin de Paolo Nebbiolo 2013

We have to call this PDA – pretty damn awesome.
