What is it about Pinot?
Why do so many of us winos
love it so much?
Is it that unmistakeably gorgeous perfume?
Those primary flavors of cherry, strawberry,
and raspberry that somehow manage to be both
delicate and intense?
The seductive secondary flavors of cola, tea,
flowers, spice, and smoke?
Is it that silky, sensuous texture?
That swarthy earthiness that subconsciously
pulls us back to an earlier stage in our
evolution when we were closer to the land?
Its challenging, thought-provoking nature?
Or is it that Pinot, more than any other grape,
so perfectly expresses and reflects the land
on which it was grown?
Let us come together and consider
these questions this Friday, April
27th, anytime from 4-10 pm. For
only $10 you may taste these Pinots:
Tarrica 2010, Monterey, $11.97
Poppy 2009, Monterey, $12.97
Ritual 2010, Casablanca Valley, $15.97
Chandon Pinot Meunier 2010, Carneros, $19.97
Baileyana 2008, Edna Valley, $19.97
Lincourt 2008, Santa Rita Hills, $19.97
Alma Rosa La Encantada 2008, Santa Rita Hills, $37.97
You can ponder, philosophize, wax poetic,
or even sing about the glories of this grape.
Or you can just drink. Either way is good
with us. See ya!
