One year ago we hosted a special wine
tasting event featuring Mi Sueno Winery
of Napa Valley, with Jaime Orozco from
the winery here to discuss the wines.
It was such an incredible evening
we decided to do it again! With
several new vintages, and once again
with Jaime gracing us with his presence.
This takes place on THURSDAY, June 6,
any time between 5:00 and 9:00 pm,
and costs $20 (wine club members wishing
to exercise their tasting benefit can
enjoy the tasting for just $10). This
includes appetizers and the following:
Mi Sueno Carneros Chardonnay
Mi Sueno Russian River Chardonnay
Mi Sueno Russian River Pinot
Mi Sueno Napa Valley Syrah
Mi Sueno Napa Valley El Llano
Mi Sueno Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
A word about that second wine. Their
Russian River Chard is a VERY small
production wine that normally sees no
distribution, and that retails at the
winery for $45. Due to our good
relationship with them, they are making
this wine available to you on THURSDAY
ONLY, on a pre-sell basis. Price will
be $27.97/bottle, or $25/bottle if you
buy six or more. Taste it and see
what you think!
The story of owner/winemaker Rolando
Herrera is inspiring. He started as
a restaurant dishwasher, then line cook,
as well as a day laborer who helped build
a stone wall for Warren Winiarski of
Stag’s Leap.
He so impressed Warren with his work
ethic and meticulous nature that he
went to work in the SLWC cellars.
Here are a few more details:
Cellar Master at SLWC
Assistant Winemaker at Chateau Potelle
Winemaker at Vine Cliff
Director of Winemaking at Paul Hobbs Consulting
Not a bad resume, right? Then at last
he realized his dream (Mi Sueno means
“my dream”) of owning his own winery.
These amazing wines are the result.
Join us this Thursday, and taste the dream!
