I have a SUPER COOL story to tell,
and an awesome 1.5 liter bottle of
wine to give away. First, the story:
Once upon a time, Allen Shoup, as
president and CEO of Chateau Ste. Michelle
and its affiliated wineries, spent 20 years
building the reputation of the Washington
growing region, in part by forging winemaking
partnerships that brought Italy’s Piero Antinori
and Germany’s Dr. Ernst Loosen to the Columbia Valley.
After leaving Ste. Michelle in 2000, Allen spent
the next three years developing Long Shadows, a
proposition that was as simple as it was complex:
recruit a cadre of the finest winemakers in the
world, and give each vintner access to Washington
State’s best grapes.
From the beginning, the wines have enjoyed critical
acclaim that has continued to grow. In addition,
Long Shadows collectively has won numerous awards,
including recognition as Food & Wine magazine’s
“Winery of the Year.”
Flash forward to this Friday, 6/14, when NCWC
will be showcasing these wines!!
For this event we will be joined by Jeff Boyer
from the winery and Mike King from Henry Wine
Group. Also, everyone who shows up can enter
a raffle to win a FREE MAGNUM of a Long Shadows
