WINE OF THE WEEK:
It was only a couple weeks ago that we
introduced you to a WOW called McManis
Pinot Noir, an amazing value at $7.97.
Turns out the folks at McManis make
a Cabernet Sauvignon as well. We just
tasted the 2012 vintage and found it to be
an equally exciting value at the same price!
Blueberry, blackberry, and black cherry
aromas are accented by just a kiss of
smoke from oak aging. Those fruit flavors
follow through on the palate, incredibly
smooth and creamy, again with oak notes
weaving through the pleasing finish.
We have to tip our hats to McManis Family
Vineyards; we think you will, too!
TAKE A LOOK AT THIS WINESDAY FLIGHT:
With Pinot Noir coming up this Friday (see
below for a link to that event), we thought
it would be fun to showcase a different varietal
this Winesday, 9/25.
Any time from 4-9 pm, pay just ten bucks
for a half glass each of these Cabernets:
McManis Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, $7.97
-described above
Forth Vineyards Histoire Cabernet 2007, $14.97
-black cherry, raspberry, and cocoa flavors,
with notes of black pepper and espresso.
Very tasty and another good value!
Grgich Hills Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, $52.97
-93 points James Suckling:
“A strong and structured red with lots of dark fruits
and chocolate. Full and silky with a solid core of fruit
and dense tannins.”
That last one is worth the price of admission
all by itself! Especially when you consider a
glass of Grgich Hills anywhere else would
probably run you $20-$30.
