WINE OF THE WEEK:
Finding a damn good Pinot Noir for under $20
is tough; finding one under $10 often seems
impossible.
But we’re up to the task!
This week’s WOW is the Line 39 Pinot Noir,
named after the 39th parallel, which runs
through the heart of California wine country.
It begins with pleasant aromas of strawberry,
raspberry, earth, smoke and a hint of rhubarb.
This medium-bodied wine is really easy to drink
and smooth, with similar flavors to the nose plus
a nice layer of spice. It’s a touch rustic, but that
helps give the wine some nice character versus
being artificial and/or simple. The medium-long
finish is lightly spicy, with strawberry notes lingering.
And a pretty darn good value at $7.97!
