This “Winesday,” April 9th, we’re
offering a fascinating flight of
wines from import specialist
Robert Cassaras of H. Mercer Wines.
Robert will join us this evening,
from about 5:30-9, as we treat you
to a half glass each of three
remarkable wines. Cost is $15.
Blau Haus Blaufrankisch 2010, $14.97
-“pleasantly spicy nose; flavors reminiscent of
blackberry and currant, a bold wine with perfectly
integrated ripe tannins and a lingering finish.”
Domaine Prieur-Brunet Bourgogne 2011, $18.97
-Ripe plums and cherries on the nose, with an
underlying brambly earth note. Crisp with
acidity and showing moderate tannins, this
is a great introduction to Burgundy.
Moorooduc Estate Pinot Noir 2010, $43.97
-“the bouquet is loaded with seductive sweet red
and black fruits, Asian spices and a little gamey
complexity; the palate is silky and seductive
on entry, the mid-palate with a firm structure in
harmony with the generous fruit; long, layered
and expansive.”
When was the last time you got to taste
a Blaufrankisch, a red Burgundy, and an
Australian Pinot Noir in one sitting?
Sounds like a great opportunity to be
a true wine geek! Join us!!
