WINES OF THE WEEK:
Watch out for lightning strikes, ’cause
we are bringing some serious WOW
thunder this week, with not one but
TWO Wines of the Week!
First up is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc
from New Zealand, the 2013 Stoneburn:
Subtle aromas of lemon, grapefruit and
spices with a hint of tropical fruit. It’s
supple, ripe and easygoing, with the
tropical fruit and grapefruit flavors supported
by a minerally backbone and a crisp,
refreshing finish.
This fantastic summer wine is just $9.97/bottle.
NEXT, we’re offering the 2008 Hendry Cabernet
Sauvignon from Napa Valley. This beauty got
a “highly recommended” from Decanter
Magazing, and 91 points from Robert Parker’s
Wine Advocate:
“This is a rich, extroverted wine. Black plums,
blackberries, tar and smoke are some of the
notes that flow from this bold, deeply flavored
Cab. Grilled herbs and licorice develop in the
glass, adding further complexity. I especially
like the plushness and depth of the finish.”
If you think that sounds good, check this!
This wine normally retails for $43.97.
This week we’re taking $10 off, so you
get it for just $33.97.
Very limited amounts of this one, fyi.
WINESDAY FLIGHT:
With those two exciting WOW’s this week,
it became pretty simple to put together our
Winesday Flight for this Wednesday, 6/11.
A paltry ten dollars gets you a half glass
each of these:
Stoneburn Sauvignon Blanc 2013
-described above
Hendry Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
-described above
Carol Shelton Monga Zinfandel 2010
-91 points Wine Spectator:
“Dense and burly, but loaded with flavor. The
briary underbrush and blackberry aromas lead to
well-structured cherry, tomato leaf and spice flavors.”
This fine, fun flight will be available from 4-9 pm!
