WINE OF THE WEEK:
Given the warm and muggy conditions
these days, it seems only appropriate
to serve up a WOW that is crisp, refreshing,
cool, and altogether delightful.
So that’s what we’re doing!
The 2013 Jules Taylor Sauvignon Blanc
garnered 92 points from the Wine Enthusiast,
along with the “Editors Choice” accolade:
“A ripe, lush style of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc,
this features ample nectarine and cassis fruit,
tinged with just a bit of green leafiness. Ample
weight on the mouth gives way to a long,
mouthwatering finish. Winemaker Jules Taylor is
on a roll. Editors’ Choice.”
Personally, I absolutely love this wine.
It’s my favorite Sauv Blanc in the shop.
You could go to wine.com and pay $16.99
for it.
Or you can buy it right here for $13.97.
Available to taste all week! (or enjoy as
part of our Winesday Flight – see below)
TASTE OF SAN MARCOS:
What is the Taste of San Marcos?
It’s a fantastic event that allows you to
enjoy delicious bites from over 18 local
restaurants, plus beers from several
local craft brewers, and wine served up
by us.
There will also be live music from
Steal Dawn, a fantastic cover band.
CLICK HERE to check them out
if you’d like!
All this takes place on Sunday, August
24th, from 4-8 pm. Location is in the
area behind Restaurant Row.
Considering all that you get, you’d think
tickets would be expensive, but they
most definitely are not.
Presale tickets are $30. At the door $35.
You may purchase presale tickets right
here at North County Wine Company.
Or call the Chamber of Commerce at
760-744-1270.
It’s gonna be a blast. Hope to see you there!
OUR WINESDAY FLIGHT …
… is way better than a kick in the ass,
a sharp stick in your eye, and an
afternoon at the DMV.
Much, much better.
This Wednesday, 8/13, just hand us
ten bucks in exchange for a half glass
each of these:
Jules Taylor Sauvignon Blanc 2013, $13.97
-92 points Wine Enthusiast; described above
Emeritus Pinot Noir 2011, $33.97
-93 points Wine Spectator; “Impressive, offering
richness, vibrancy and subtle charm, marked by
snappy blackberry, red berry, spice, sage and
underbrush notes. Ends with a minerally edge
that holds the flavors.”
Saldo Zinfandel 2012, $26.97
-88 points Wine Spectator; “Ripe cherry and charred
oak aromas lead to dense blackberry and smoked
peppercorn flavors.”
A tremendous flight that really should cost
a lot more than $10.
But it doesn’t. So, lucky you!
