WINESDAY BIRTHDAY FLIGHT:
This Wednesday, March 11th, marks the
anniversary of a wonderful event – the birth of
William Michael Tobin, aka Bill the Wine Geek.
I won’t mention what age he’ll be reaching.
I WILL say he is older than I am, even though
lots of people have guessed otherwise (which
he loves, of course).
Bill will be here this Wednesday evening, and it
seems only appropriate to offer a Winesday
Flight of wines that he absolutely adores.
Cost is just $10, and you’ll get a half glass
each of these AMAZING wines:
Roederer Brut L’Ermitage 2006, $39.97
-97 points Wine Enthusiast
San Antonio Cask 520 2009, $19.97
-92 points Bill
Gaja Ca Marcanda Promis 2011, $39.97
-93 points Wine Advocate
Truly exceptional, each one. Just like Bill.
Join us this Wednesday, any time from 5-9.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR DOG LOVERS:
While we have always been dog-friendly here
at NCWC, and will continue to be, a recent
visit from the Health Department has put us in
a position of having to clarify and refine exactly
what that will mean from here on out.
In accordance with California law, dogs may
not stay in the interior bar area. (service dogs
of course are the only exception)
Well-behaved dogs are welcome outside on the wine bar
patio, provided these courtesies are followed:
-They must remain under the control of their owner.
-Owner must pick up after their pet.
-Dogs must not be a nuisance to guests, employees,
or other dogs.
Our goal has always been to offer a comfortable
experience for all guests. We thank you for your
understanding in this matter.
WINE OF THE WEEK:
Well, Spain has done it again! Crafted a
delicious wine at a remarkable price.
This time it’s the 2012 Tarima Hill Monastrell,
92 points Stephen Tanzer:
“Heady, seductively perfumed aromas of dark berry
liqueur, cherry-cola, Indian spices and candied violet,
with a smoky mineral nuance adding vivacity. Sweet,
penetrating and seamless on the palate, offering
intense black raspberry and mocha flavors underscored
by juicy acidity. At once rich and energetic, finishing
with strong thrust, supple tannins and a whiplash of floral pastilles.”
Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it? We’ll have it
available at the bar, so come try it. You’ll see what
a value it is at just $13.97/bottle!!
