Howdy!
Before we get to your club wines, here are some
other things you want to know about:
Your Pick-up Party is Wednesday, 6/3.
Come on in and taste all Club wines,
any time from 5-9.
Our monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Leisa Herritt.
Not Dave, mind you. Just Leisa. 😉
Leisa, come on in and pick any past or
present Silver level wine.
And by all means remember your Stock-up Days!
This coming weekend, June 6th and 7th, everything
in the shop is 10% off our already low prices, for
MEMBERS ONLY!
Now for the wines, starting with the Silvers.
First up is the new vintage of Aia Vecchia Lagone
Toscana, the 2012. It’s a blend of 60% Merlot,
30% Cabernet, and 10% Cab Franc.
On the nose, the wine is delicate with notes of cherry,
vanilla, raw beef and herbs. On the palate, it is dry,
structured and elegant with flavors of plum, ripe cherries,
wild berries and a hint of spice, followed by a lengthy
and smooth finish that begs for food.
Next we have the 2012 Rock Island Red from
Ryan Patrick Vineyards. This one is a blend of
Merlot and Syrah with a dash of Petite Sirah and
Primitivo.
It’s a hedonistic wine that offers appealing suggestions
of cherry, vanilla, and coffee. It finishes with ripe, silky
soft milk chocolate flavors.
Now let’s talk about Gold. We had some fun choosing
these, and we think you’ll have fun drinking them!
This month is about compare and contrast, and to let
you do that you’re getting two Syrahs – one from
Washington and one from Australia.
First is the 2012 DLD Red Mountain Syrah from
Hedges. This single vineyard stunner shows great
structure and complexity, with notes of wild berries,
fennel, and earth.
Your second Gold is the 2013 Pirathon Shiraz from
the Barossa Valley.
This is generous, big, full-bodied and richly flavored
with dark fruit and notes of chocolate, fig, and spice.
It shows a robust structure with fine, chalky tannins
and a balancing spine of acidity.
Remember, your Pick-up Party is Wednesday the 3rd,
and your Stock-up Days are this coming weekend,
the 6th and 7th.
Cheers!!
