WINE OF THE WEEK:
As someone who doesn’t always use the gray matter
between my ears, I’ve become fond of the phrase, “no-brainer.”
After all, when you have to make decisions all day long,
it’s pretty awesome not to have to think. To have something
be easy, automatic, stress-free.
Like picking a great every-day wine. It should taste good, of
course. But it shouldn’t put much of a dent in your wallet.
Enter the 2013 Bogle Essential Red. The 2012 vintage was
also a WOW a year or so ago. This new vintage is just as
impressive, with an 89 point score from Wine Spectator:
“Welcoming and easy to drink, this full-bodied wine has mellow,
ripe fruit flavors, light oaky accents and a warm sense of
ripeness that doesn’t go over the top. Subtle tannins support
the texture while keeping it smooth. The blend includes Zinfandel,
Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah.”
It sounds good, tastes good, and is available here for just 7.97.
No-brainer, right?
