WINE OF THE WEEK:
It’s been seven years since Robert Mondavi left us,
but he remains an enduring legend in the world of wine.
He showed remarkable genius at creating both
consistent every-day wines, as well as premium wines
showing world-class quality. Perhaps even more
noteworthy was his role as a tireless, enthusiastic
ambassador for Napa Valley wine and, by extension,
American wine in general, at a time when most wine
lovers equated California with cheap, lousy jug juice.
It is our pleasure this week to offer a WOW that is
both a salute to Mr. Mondavi and a great deal for you!
The 2012 Mondavi Napa Cabernet is a classic expression
of the Valley. It’s tantalizing, blackberry filled entry evolves
into a plush, mouth filling compote of black fruit, beautifully
integrated with woodsy and mineral notes, mocha, tobacco
and clove. For all its volume the delivery is surprisingly fresh
and supple, with a long, mocha-infused finish.
Online we’re seeing this selling from $20-$25. But here
at NCWC we have it at 17.97.
As is often the case with these deals, there are limited
cases available. Come get it while it lasts!
