WINE OF THE WEEK:
We just had the incredible good fortune to
taste a kick-ass blend from Niner Wine Estates
in Paso Robles, and the even better fortune
to get it at a world-beating price.
They call it Twisted Spur. It’s a blend of Merlot,
Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Cabernet. Vintage 2010.
It’s like a true Paso Robles cowboy—big, bold and
ready to stand up to anything. The nose is defined
by rich blueberry and plum fruit, plus a leather note.
Flavors of blackberry and plum come forward on the
palate, accented with fresh herbal notes and a hint of fennel.
The winery price is $35. Best price online is $20.
But here at the best wine shop in town it’s just $14.97.
Seriously. You want to try this and buy this. Cheers!
