WINE OF THE WEEK:
“Oops, we did it again. We found you a WOW.”
Apologies to Britney Spears, but we sometimes feel
like singing when we get excited about new wines.
This time our Wine of the Week is a Santa Barbara
Syrah from an awesome winemaker we’ve been
supporting for years, name of McPrice Myers.
Mac has a project called Barrel 27 – now transitioning
to a new designation called the Blue Collar Series.
The wine in question is the 2011 Head Honcho, which
is 100% Syrah and 100% delicious.
He wants to move through his last bunch of this wine,
so we grabbed a big pile of it in exchange for getting
a phenomenal price.
Check it out. His current vintage of this wine sells
at the winery for $35. Online we found this exact
wine for $30. Our price? Just $14.97
The wine is loaded with aromas and flavors of blackberry,
pepper, lychee, violet, olive, cassis, lavender, and smoky
plum, plus sweet tannins and a lifted finish full of spice.
Just awesome, and unfortunately limited. The cases
should be rolling in our door sometime Tuesday afternoon,
so come get it!
WINESDAY FLIGHT:
Just ten bucks this Wednesday, 5/4, for a half glass
each of these:
Ponzi Pinot Noir 2014
Costa de Oro Pinot Noir 2013
Ken Brown Pinot Noir 2014
Yum! Great excuse for a midweek break!
