WINE OF THE WEEK:
Now THIS is a WOW. The 2013 Pine Ridge Cabernet
Sauvignon from Napa Valley is so, so impressive.
Here are the winemaker’s words:
“Swirling with layered aromas of fresh red raspberry,
blackberry pie and ripe cassis, this wine enraptures
the senses with fragrant dried violet, gingersnap,
dark cocoa and sweet basil impressions.
“Plush and exuberant, the palate opens with red cherry,
juicy boysenberry and red plum fruits that intermingle
with hints of cinnamon stick and graham cracker pie crust.
The lingering finish is framed by velvety tannins and echoes
of cherry cordial and roasted espresso bean.”
The flavor complexity is indeed a marvel, and so is the
structure, which is classic Napa Valley. It’s beautiful
now, and will age ten to fifteen years minimum.
Bill, Cab lover extraordinaire that he is, gave this wine
93 points on the 100 point scale. And he doesn’t do
that very often.
This wine is 42.97 in our shop. But for this week only,
through Saturday 9/10/16,we’re offering a ten percent
discount if you buythree or more. That’s 38.67/bottle.
Keep reading to see a great way to try it!
