Wow, November already! We look forward to serving you well
this holiday season, and your Wine Club info is a great way
to start.
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4
Club wines for free, falls on Tuesday, 11/7, from 5-9.
As for your 4th quarter Stock-Up Days, they fall on Friday and
Saturday, November 25 and 26. Take advantage of this great
way to save money on holiday wines – as a “thank you” bonus
for your support, we are raising your typical 10% discount to 15%,
and that’s good on everything in the shop!!
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Kimberly Schneider. Congrats!
Now let’s get to the wines, Silver first. The 2015 San Felice Chianti
Classico picked up a 91 point score from Wine Spectator:
“Rich and dense, with bright black cherry, earth, tobacco and tar
flavors fanning out through the long finish. There’s plenty of fruit,
but also depth and harmony. Sangiovese, Colorino and Pugnitello.
Drink now through 2023.”
The 2014 Yalumba Patchwork Shiraz is a new vintage of an old fave.
From Australia’s Barossa Valley, this snagged a 92 point score
from James Suckling:
“Lots of spice, dark chocolate, dried fruit and berry character on the
nose and palate. Full body, round and chewy tannins, and a long
and flavorful finish. Loads going on with this wine.”
Now how ’bout these Golds! First we have another new vintage, this
time of an enormously popular wine, the 2013 Coho Headwaters Red.
93 points James Suckling:
“Aromas of black currants with dried leaves and hints of cappuccino.
Full-bodied with round, polished tannins, lots of blackberry character,
some raisiny notes and a persistent finish.”
Finally, we offer something really cool. The 1998 Chateau de Bellevue
Lussac Saint-Emilion. This nearly 20 year-old Bordeaux is stunning,
and drinking beautifully right now.
95% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc, the wine offers an intriguing
array of aromas and flavors, like cherry, plum, balsamic, umami,
subtle oak, dusty earth, and loamy forest floor. There is good grip
from the tannins, but its age gives it a smooth, well-integrated
quality that is very appealing indeed.
Wonderful wines, for sure; we look forward to hearing your
feedback on them. Have a fantastic November. We hope to
enjoy your company throughout the month! 🙂
