WINE OF THE WEEK:
There are certain things we can tell you about this one. We can tell you
it’s from Paso Robles. We can tell you it’s Malbec that spends 24 months
aging in American and French oak barrels.
We can tell you it’s smooth, rich and ripe, offering notes of dark plums, vanilla, cedar and cola, with hints of mocha and caramel.
We can tell you it’s original price was 31.97/bottle, but that we have it now at 50% OFF. Which means you can get this – only while it lasts – for just 15.97/bottle. No rain checks.
What we CAN’T tell you is its name – not until you enter the shop.
The pricing on this is so deeply discounted that the winery has asked
us to keep completely mum on all digital media, including our emails.
We will respect their wishes, because that’s how we roll. But in our shop,
we do what we want. Which means you get a killer deal on this delicious red.
Available to taste if you’d like, so come on over! 🙂
WINE BAR HAPPENINGS:
First of all, a quick word on Friday and Saturday. Remember Bill? Yes, it’s true, he’s not working quite as much as he used to back in the day. Kind of half retired, and loving it! Playing with his grandson, all that good stuff.
But he’s still got his hand in here at NCWC, and his birthday’s coming up. Sunday the 11th, in fact. So for this weekend, Friday and Saturday evenings, he has put together Bill’s Birthday Flight. It’s a great tasting lineup, I must say, so make plans to be here this weekend! (more info coming on that in a couple days)
As for this WEDNESDAY, we’ve got a tasty ten buck tasting set up for you. These are the wines:
Famille Perrin Vinsobres 2015. Syrah-Grenache, dry but ripe, with polished complexity.
Zaccagnini Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2015. Juicy, fun and quaffable.
Dry Creek Cabernet 2015. Full-bodied and rich, with lively aromatics.
J. Bookwalter “The Protagonist” 2014. Complex and structured, with a long finish.
Tremendous stuff, for sure and fo sho. Available this Wednesday, any time from 4-9 pm. Again, just ten bucks/person!
