WINE OF THE WEEK:
The Tondre Grapefield is one of the most highly-regarded vineyards in the
world-class California appellation called the Santa Lucia Highlands.
And while SLH is most famous for its Pinot Noirs, that’s not all they grow.
Witness the 2015 Syrah from Joyce Vineyards. This wine is amazing, and a fine
example of how good Syrah can be.
The wine offers aromas of blueberry, cranberry, and dried herbs, plus a subtle
savory note. The palate is nice and dense, with flavors of blueberry cobbler,
baking spice, and hints of rosemary and sage. Fine tannins and a streak of fresh
acidity create an elegant and vibrant finish.
This is one of those wines that over-delivers at its price, which in this case is
just 15.97/bottle. Come try it and see!
