WINE OF THE WEEK:
FIRST THINGS FIRST: Holiday Hours notice. It’s all per usual this week, 11-9
Tuesday through Saturday, BUT on Easter Sunday we will be closed to enjoy
the day with family. So if you need wine – and you know you do – be sure to get in
here before Sunday!
Now for our WOW. We poured this wine just this past weekend, and people – to
put it mildly – freaked out. In a good way, of course! Folks couldn’t believe how good
it is, especially for the price, and we sold out.
The wine is the 2014 Opaque Petit Verdot from Paso Robles. “Opaque” is a perfect
name, because this is super dark in the glass.
Petit Verdot is typically used in small amounts as a blending grape, but the
winemaker was so impressed with this fruit he persuaded the owners to let
him bottle it by itself. Good call!
After aging in French and American oak for 24 months, the wine reveals ripe
flavors of black plum and currant with accents of vanilla and dark chocolate.
Firm, ripe tannins hold it all together beautifully.
As I said, those who tasted this wine thought it was way more expensive
than it is. We have it for just 17.97/bottle, and it is worth every cent and then some!
We did sell out over the weekend, but we have more coming in this Wednesday.
Come get it while you can!
WEDNESDAY WINE BAR SPECIAL!
The tax season is now officially over, so let’s put that crap behind us and enjoy
spring, and life, and one another.
