They’re heeeere!
We’ve got a grrrrrrrreat lineup of Club Wines all set for you. And you can taste
them for free at our Pick-up Party, which is Tuesday the 6th.
The monthly winner winner chicken dinner of a free bottle is Sara Manois. Congratulations!
AND… your STOCK-UP DAYS – your opportunity to buy wines at a discount –
fall on the very first weekend of September, the 7th and 8th. Our already great prices
get even better that weekend, so definitely make a note of that!
Okey dokey smokey, here are the Silver Level wines:
The 2016 Davey & Browne Vortex is an Aussie blend of 87% Cabernet, 8% Tempranillo, and 5% Grenache. Dark berry fruit notes combine with hints of cherry and strawberry to deliver an easy-drinking style with a long finish. 92 points Wine & Spirits.
Next is another blend from the southern hemisphere, the 2015 Aresti Trisquel Red,
which is 44% Cabernet, 42% Syrah, and 14% Petit Verdot. 93 points James Suckling:
“Aromas of blackberry and hints of spice, with a full body and firm, silky tannins.
It is complex and delicious through the lovely finish.”
Now for the Gold medal wines. The 2017 Spear Pinot Noir is from the Sta. Rita Hills.
Its nose offers cranberry, cherry, and green figs. The palate delivers strawberry,
raspberry, and tea leaf flavors, and the mouthfeel is firm, spicy and dry. Delicious.
We finish up with the 2014 Smokescreen Cabernet from Napa Valley. It offers nice
complexity on the nose, with black cherry, blackberry, chocolate, oak, cocoa powder,
and a touch of cigar box. All that follows through on the palate, with terrific structure, in an elegant and approachable style.
You’re gonna love these. And th-th-th-th-th-that’s all, folks!
