WINE OF THE WEEK:
The Monson family has been farming Washington’s Columbia Valley for four decades. They started with nut and fruit orchards, expanding to include wine grapes 20 years ago.
The entire time their focus has been on quality and respect for the land, and that
definitely shows in the wines they make under their Goose Ridge label.
One of those is a red blend they call G3 (short for third generation), and they need to
make way for the 2015 vintage of that wine. Which means we just got a KILLER DEAL on the delicious 2014, which is 41% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Syrah, and 2% Malbec.
This blend expresses enticing fresh red fruit and savory herb aromas with elements of coconut and baking spices. A supple, textured mouthfeel of ripe red plums, cherry, and pomegranate fruit flavors nicely balance with integrated nuances of spice and minerality. The wine finishes with soft,lingering notes of blackberry, plum, and black pepper.
The regular price on this tasty juice is 13.97/bottle. But that killer deal I meantioned
means you get it for HALF PRICE, which of course is just 6.97.
