Cheers, and Happy February! Here’s everything you need to know about your Wine Club.
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines for FREE, falls on Wednesday the 5th, any time from 5-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Garrett D’Amare. Congratulations!
Now then, here are the Silver Level wines:
The 2016 Tasca Lamuri Nero d’Avola hails from Sicily. This wine got lots of impressive scores, including this 92 point evaluation from James Suckling:
“I love the sweet, floral and mulberry nose of this succulent Nero d’Avola. The gentle tannins creep up on you at the finish, making it even more delicious. Good length and food compatibility.”
Also from Italy is the 2017 Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, which is a mouthful in more ways than one.
This organic wine boasts fine tannin-acid balance, which provides solid structure for the flavors of blueberry, cherry, and dusty earth.
Now let’s look at the Gold Level wines.
The 2016 Rose Rock Pinot Noir is from Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills and is made by Domaine Drouhin. Here’s the 92 point note from Wine Enthusiast:
“A superb value, this is a dark, supple, even sensuous wine with deep fruit flavors of blueberry and cassis. Notes of dried Mediterranean herbs and a dark dive into baker’s chocolate contribute to a complex weave of flavors. There’s real polish and power here, though this is among the winery’s lowest-priced Pinots.”
Last but definitely not least is the 2015 Bootleg Prequel from Sonoma. 93 points Jeb Dunnuck:
“Made from 85% Syrah and 15% Petite Sirah, its deep purple color is followed by a peppery, meaty, dark fruited beauty that has full-bodied richness, complex notes of olives and spice, sweet tannin, and a great finish. It’s a pleasure-bent 2015 that should keep for a decade.”
Enjoy your wines and have a great month. Hope to see you soon!
