We’re hearing from everyone that wine is more essential now than ever. So we plan on keeping the Wine Club going! Of course, if you would like to put your membership on hold, just let us know. But hey, it’s a new month, and we’ve got new wines to tell you about. First, we need to announce the winner of the FREE bottle. This month it’s Taylor Cook, who gets to choose any past or present Silver level wine. Congrats! Speaking of the Silver wines, here they are. First up is a killer Cab from Washington that was our WOW a couple weeks back. The 2017 CS Cabernet is precise and vibrantly structured, with black cherry, espresso and spice flavors that take on richness toward polished tannins. Next is the 2017 San Felice Chianti Classico. This has solid density and freshness, with dusty tannins and notes of cherry, raspberry, and violets. Another terrific value from this consistent producer. The first Gold is from Peju Winery in Napa Valley. Their 2016 Merlot offers fragrant, layered aromas of juicy pomegranate, baking spice, and a hint of cedar. Lush fruits of cherry and blackberry envelop the palate. Soft hints of toasted almond and vanilla culminate with an elegant finish. Last but definitely not least is the 2015 Amapola Creek Cabernet from Sonoma Valley, 94 points Wine Advocate. This wine typically sells in the $70 range, so being able to offer it as a club wine was a serious coup for us. Here’s the note: “93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, this offers pronounced black currants, black cherries and wild blueberry scents with hints of mulberries, Chinese five spice, tilled soil, bay leaves and tapenade. Very big, concentrated and powerful in the mouth, it completely coats the palate with black fruits and savory layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with great persistence.” These beauties are available now. Of course, curbside pickup is available, as is delivery for most of North County. 760-653-9032. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for your continued support, and please take excellent care of yourselves and your loved ones. We’ll get through this!
