2nd WINE OF THE WEEK:So here’s what happened … A terrific wine presented itself to us at an unheard-of price. We tasted the wine. Then we said, “Oh, hell yes!” Or words to that effect. The star of this show comes from a famous Napa Valley producer called Alpha Omega, and it is the 2017 Two Squared Chardonnay. It’s yummy. 80% of this wine is fermented in stainless steel. 20% in year-old French oak. The end result is a deliciously clean Chardonnay with a balanced oak presence, showing subtle but wonderful hints of toast, vanilla and spice. Add that to notes of pineapple, pear, honeysuckle, yellow apple and orange peel. Then throw in a lovely through-line of acidity, and you’ve got a winner of a white wine! Word to the wise: if you prefer heavy oak and heavy butter, this may not be your thing. But if you like a delicious Chardonnay that is crisp, clean and ready for warm days, this is absolutely your thing. At the winery this is $28. Our regular price is 19.97. But right here, right now, you can get this fine bottle of Chard for just 14.97. Cheers! (and yes, you can still call 760-653-9032 for pickup or delivery) 2nd WINE OF THE WEEK:Here’s another super sipper to help you cool down this summer. The Firesteed Pinot Gris comes to us from Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and what it brings with it are mouthwatering flavors of melon, lemon, pear and tropical fruits. Lovely and bright, it sails through a clean, enticing finish. Typical price on this wine is 15.97. But this week we have it for you at half off, just 7.97/bottle. Limited quantities available, so come and get it! Thank you for your support, and have a great weekend! 🙂
