WINE OF THE WEEK:
Booker Vineyard owner/winemaker Eric Jensen is highly respected for the amazing wines he creates under that label.
He has another project called My Favorite Neighbor, which includes a wine by that name, along with one named after Eric’s parents, Harvey & Harriet.
The 2018 Harvey & Harriet is your WOW, and it’s delicious. It’s a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Syrah, 14% Petite Sirah, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot, aged in 75% new French oak.
This wine received a 93-95 barrel sample score from Wine Advocate, and this 94 point score from Jeb Dunnuck:
“This offers a big, juicy bouquet of crème de cassis and jammy blackberries interwoven with lots of tobacco, cedar pencil, and earthy, foresty aromas and flavors. This ripe yet medium to full-bodied, polished, elegant beauty will drink nicely for at least a decade.”
Eric’s intention here – in this era of prestigious but sometimes massively expensive wines – was to offer stellar concentration and quality at an affordable price.
He nailed it. This very impressive Paso red is just 29.97, and we have it for you now. Cheers!
