Welcome to July! A bit of customary housekeeping first, then we’ll describe your wines.
The monthly free bottle winner is Derek Washington. Congrats!
Your STOCK-UP DAYS for July are Saturday and Sunday, the 24th and 25th. Take advantage of that discount!
As usual now, we’re giving you not 1 but 3 opportunities to taste the wines. All four will be available Tues-Thurs, July 6-8. This tasting is FREE for you and your spouse, or a friend.
Now for the Club wines, SILVER LEVEL first. The 2020 Block Nine Cabernet is the first release of Cab from this producer, which has been specializing in Pinot Noir, but they clearly hit the ground running with this one.
Aromas of plum and blackberry leap from the glass, while flavors of black currant and cassis cascade across the palate, accented by hints of spice, licorice and oak.
The 2018 Heron Pinot Noir shows pretty aromas of red fruit and subtle earth tones. The soft, round palate offers delicious plum and cherry flavors, with a nice level of acidity keeping it fresh.
GOLD WINES next. The 2016 Laird Jillian’s Blend is a Napa Valley beauty composed mostly of Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot.
The nose offers suggestions of boysenberry, blueberry, baking spice and vanilla. The palate is plush and balanced with flavors of black cherry, mocha and clove.
Finally, we give you the 2017 Cass Syrah from Paso Robles.
This wine is savory, layered and concentrated, with notes of dark cherry, blueberry, tobacco, spice and vanilla pulsing through a long finish.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your friendship & support. Cheers, and Happy Independence Day!
