WINE OF THE WEEK:
One of the great parts of this biz is turning folks on to wines they love.
The sad part is when those wines sell out before the next vintage is released.
But when the new vintage appears, it’s happy time again! Especially with a wine as consistently wonderful as our WOW.
The 2019 Old Vines Zinfandel from Turley is our Wine of the Week. 93 points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate:
“The wine has inviting red and blue berry fruits laced with notes of apricot and dried flowers. Medium-bodied, the palate is silky, soft, super fresh and approachable with understated but pure fruit character. Lovely!“
Vinous Media gave it 91 points and called it “a steal at $35.” But check this out.
Our regular price for this wine is 29.97. But this week only, through Sunday, you get it for 25.47, which is 15% off!
Great price for a great Zin. Come and get it!
MIDWEEK WINE FLIGHT:
This midweek we’re giving you 3 very fine reasons to visit our wine bar!
We’re asking ten bucks for this flight, available Tues-Thurs. You get a half glass each of these delicious California reds:
Vina Robles Cabernet 2018. 91 points Wine Enthusiast.
McPrice Myers High on the Hog 2019. 91 points Jeb Dunnuck.
Turley Old Vines Zinfandel 2019. 93 points Wine Advocate.
We recommend you come give these a try!
(P.S. Set some time aside this Friday or Saturday for our annual Holiday Pinot Noir Tasting Event!
Pinot Noir is a fantastic food wine that works beautifully on the Thanksgiving table, and we will be pouring 6 great examples of it. More details coming in a couple days)
WINE OF THE MONTH:
Wowza, do we have the perfect November wine for you! It’s the 2019 Chateau des Capitans Julienas.
The grape is Gamay and the larger appellation is Beaujolais. But make no mistake, this is NOT the silly, tutti-frutti stuff called Beaujolais Nouveau. This is the real deal.
The wine garnered several 90+ point scores, including 93 points from James Suckling.
It is packed with juicy flavors of plum, blueberry and blackberry, showing impressive weight and concentration, plus firm tannins for structure.
This wine will be terrific for Thanksgiving, and it’s a delicious sipper all on its own!
Available now at NCWC for 16.97/bottle.
