Now for the wines…
WINE CLUB TASTING NOTES:
Let’s start with the Silver Level. The 2015 Ektimo Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley leads us off.
This wine is juicy, spicy, ripe, flavorful and fun, with notes of blueberry, blackberry, cinnamon toast and anise. A great summer red for your next party or barbecue!
Next is the 2020 Felino Cabernet from Argentina.
This one also offers serious bang for the buck, with aromas and flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant, oak, vanilla and mere hints of chocolate and herbs.
Gold Level next up. The 2019 Laird “Ghost Ranch” Pinot Noir hails from Carneros.
This is a beauty, with wonderful balancing structure supporting notes of cherry, raspberry, cranberry, hibiscus, rose petal, cinnamon and subtle earth tones.
Finally, we return to Argentina for the 2018 Zaha Cabernet Franc.
This is a flavor-packed Franc, delivering black cherry, blueberry and spice, along with suggestions of mocha, herbs, olive and fig.
We believe these August wines are built to please. Thank you, and cheers!
