Jim is amazing. A legend, actually.
Gourmand, wine expert, raconteur,
philanthropist, and athlete non-pareil,
his every appearance makes women swoon
and men bow in respect.
He scales mountains for sport, but without
ropes and pitons, and often with one hand
tied behind his back – just to make it
interesting.
He swims with Great White sharks, but only
after pricking his finger to release blood
in the water – just to make it interesting.
The National Park Service wants to carve his
beautiful likeness into Mt. Rushmore; work will
begin as soon as an artist worthy of the task
is found (it may have to be Jim himself).
Congress, in one of their rare bipartisan moments,
has agreed to make his birthday a national holiday.
(his birthday actually falls on January 5th, but
the holiday will be celebrated on the 1st)
In celebration of Jim, then, and all his
wonderfulness, we are having a Wine Tasting
Event featuring 7 incredible wines known
as “Jim’s Gems.”
Your window of opportunity to bask in the
glow of Jim’s incredibleness is any time
from 4-10 pm this Friday, 1/11. The cost
is a mere $15, and these are his co-stars:
Masi Masianco Pinot Grigio/Verduzzo 2011, $11.97
-89 points Tobin Bros.
Alma Rosa Pinot Noir 2008, $37.97
-91 points Wine Enthusiast
Guigal Saint-Joseph 2009, $28.97
-90-92 points Wine Advocate
Fanti Brunello di Montalcino 2006, $49.97
-92 points Wine Spectator
Antica Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, $39.97
-92 points Wine Advocate
Beckmen Syrah 2010, $19.97
-91 points Jim Tobin
Luca Malbec 2010, $24.95
-93 points Wine Advocate
Jim would happily drink all these himself –
just to make it interesting – but he is
far too giving to do that.
So make it even MORE interesting – join
His Royal Greatness in this glorious,
yet tastefully understated celebration
of the fantastic, exceptional – and above
all humble – Jim.
