Friday the 13th used to signify bad luck,
but we’re putting a stop to that.
How? By staging a spectacular sequel
to our last “Top Shelf” tasting event.
We’ll call it “Top Shelf II, The Return of
the World Class Wine Tasting!”
The show’s available this Friday, 12/13,
any time from 4-10. Cost is $30, including
hors d’ouevres. These are the superstars:
Don Melchor Cabernet 2009, $99.97
-94 points Wine Spectator; “This iconic Cabernet
is firm on the nose, with cola, cassis, cherry and
leather aromas. It’s racy, juicy and powerful, with
flavors of cassis, blackberry, plum, nutmeg and
coffee that swim in harmony. This is big, but also
elegant and clean. Cellar Selection.”
McPrice Myers Beautiful Earth 2011, $37.97
-94 points Wine Advocate; “Gorgeously pure, fresh and
focused, with knockout purity, it dishes out layers
of blackberry, chocolate, smoke and floral undertones
to go with a full-bodied and impeccably balanced
profile on the palate. Impressive any way you look at it.”
Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy 2011, $49.97
-92 points Wine Spectator; “Dark and rich, supple and silky,
brimming with blackberry and black cherry flavors that show
a hint of pomegranate as the finish wraps gently around the
fruit. This has a wonderful open texture to let the flavors sing.”
Justin Isosceles 2010, $64.97
-95 points Tasting Panel; “This is juicy to its very core;
ripe, sweet and toasted cinnamon sprinkled with a flash
of cranberry. Earthy, gripping tannins are held in check,
nestled in a soft cloth. Sturdy but palate-stroking.”
Michel Rolland Cabernet 2010, $129.97
-95 points Wine Advocate; “It boasts a full-bodied opulence,
impeccable purity, and ripe tannin that nicely frames the wine.
This serious, rich Cabernet Sauvignon is as exceptional as
one would expect from this winemaking genius.”
You can see why THIS Friday the 13th is going
to be lucky, indeed. Tasting wines of this caliber
is a rare treat, and an opportunity we are thrilled
to extend to you.
Bill and I have already started drooling,
just thinking about them.
Don’t worry, though. We’ll mop up
before you get here!
