This Friday and Saturday, 1/22-23, we will
be the “Rhone Rangers,” which means we’re
pouring fantastic California reds made from
classic Rhone Valley varietals.
These include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, etc,
and many California winemakers have embraced
them with gusto. It’s just fifteen dollars
this weekend for a half glass each of these:
Joseph Phelps Le Mistral 2010, 34.97
-89 points Wine Spectator; “pure and focused,
with a firm finish”
Larner Syrah 2010, 26.97
-92 points Jim Tobin, 90 points Wine Advocate;
“outstanding wine with beautiful richness”
Calcareous Tres Violet 2012,
-92 points Wine Spectator; “supple and vibrant,
with a silky texture”
Yum, yum, yum. Meet up with us this weekend
for these California explorations of Rhone Reds!
