This Friday, February 7th marks the
Opening Ceremonies of the Sochi Winter
Olympics.
Bill and I are super excited about this.
Partly because we’ll be competing in
the bobsled event (which they are re-naming
the “Bill and Jim sled” in our honor).
And partly because it gives us an excuse –
as if we needed one – to put on a wine
tasting event!
Which means any time from 4-10 you are
invited to taste the following seven
“Gold Medal Wines.” Cost is $15, and that
includes silver medal snacks. 🙂
These are all wines that have scored an
outstanding 90 points or better, or have
literally been awarded a gold medal.
Gallo Signature Series Chardonnay 2011, $21.97
-90 points Wine Spectator
Astrolabe Pinot Noir 2009, 25.97
-91 points Wine Spectator
Burgess Merlot 2009, $19.97
-90 points Jim Tobin
Veramonte Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, $7.97
-90 points Wine Spectator
Amizetta Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, $26.97
-Gold Medal, California State Fair
Kuleto Native Son 2009, $22.97
-91 points Tobin Bros.
Carol Shelton Karma Zinfandel 2009, $21.97
-92 points Wine Spectator
We’re not entirely sure what will
be more spectacular – The Opening
Ceremonies, or this tasting.
But we’ve got a pretty good idea!
Join us. We may even let you ride
our bobsled!
