We’ve been here over a year and a half now,
and we realized with shock that in that
entire time we have never:
run for public office,
sung on “American Idol,” or
landed a jet on an aircraft carrier.
Oh, and we’ve also never had a Merlot tasting!
So we’re going to put off those other tasks
for now, because we think the wine thing
is more important. Yes, Merlot took a beating
because of that one funny line in “Sideways.”
Truth is, though, Merlot CAN be an awesome
wine, and we are about to prove it.
So this Friday, March 23rd, come taste that
fundamental truth. Your window of
opportunity is 4-10 pm, and your cost is
only 10 clams. You’ll get to experience
these 6 Merlots (plus one terrific Chardonnay
to kick things off):
Starmont Chardonnay 2009, $12.97
-89 points Wine Spectator
Rancho Sisquoc Merlot 2008, $12.97
-88 points Jim Tobin
Orfila Merlot 2008, $19.97
-88 points Tobin Bros.
Matanzas Creek Merlot 2006, $21.97
-90 points Wine Enthusiast
Sika Merlot 2009, $19.97
-90 points Tobin Bros.
Sterling Three Palms Merlot 2005, $29.97
-95 points Wine News
Paradigm Merlot 2007, $39.97
-91 points Bill Tobin
This is a very impressive lineup, indeed.
Please accept our invitation to come out
and sample these delicious wines, so we
can get around to crossing those other
things off our list.
