NCWC PINOT NOIR TASTING 9/27/13
McMANIS CALIFORNIA PINOT NOIR 2012
Blueberry, blackberry, and black cherry aromas are accented by just a kiss of smoke from oak aging. Those fruit flavors follow through on the palate, incredibly smooth and creamy, again with oak notes weaving through the pleasing finish. $7.97
POPPY MONTEREY PINOT NOIR 2011
Poppy hails from Monterey County, one of the coolest climates in California, where the long, slow growing season results in fragrant and supple Pinot that really stands out amongst the competition in the under $15 category. A long-standing customer favorite, Poppy Pinot is typically fruity and easy to drink, perfect for entertaining or for Tuesday night takeout. $12.97
BOULDER BANK MARLBOROUGH PINOT NOIR 2010
Produced in small quantities, this warm, inviting wine offers notes of rose petal, sage, wild strawberry, and cardamom. The restraint and elegance of this wine give it the ability to pair beautifully with even the most nuanced delicacies. $17.97
PELERIN SANTA LUCIA HIGHLANDS PINOT NOIR 2010
This leads with aromas of ripe cherries, baking spices, and mint. Medium-full bodied on the palate, yet showing bright acidity, the flavor profile moves toward fresh strawberries, caramel, with a touch of black pepper and licorice on the finish. Overall, the balance and presentation of the wine represents a fine hybrid of the California and Burgundian styles. $19.97
SIDURI SONOMA COUNTY PINOT NOIR 2012
