Now for the wines…
WINE CLUB TASTING NOTES:
Silver Level first. The 2019 Tapiz Malbec from Argentina is the best vintage of this wine we’ve tasted in years.
It is juicy and fresh, showing aromas and flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, spice, walnut and tobacco. It’s creamy and concentrated, with polished tannins.
Next up is the 2020 Ippolito Calabrise, from Italy’s Calabria region.
The nose is dense with blackberry and blackcurrant, with notes of loamy earth. On the palate it shows great, grippy structure, with flavors that follow the nose in fine, balanced style.
Moving to Gold Level, we have the 2021 Bramare Malbec from Argentina’s Lujan de Cuyo region and famed winemaker Paul Hobbs.
The rich nose is packed with boysenberry, blackberry, cassis and vanilla. On the palate, all the fruit is present but kept in check by drying notes of dusty earth and cocoa powder, finishing with a hint of espresso.
Finally, we offer the 2021 Enkidu Cabernet from Sonoma.
This is classic Cab that combines structure, well-integrated oak and dark fruit into a wine that is delicious now and will age gracefully if you like. Dark berries, cocoa, dried herbs and toast all show up in this mouth-filling gem.
We are so happy to deliver these fun wines. Thank you very much. We appreciate you and hope you have an awesome October!
