Now for the wines…
WINE CLUB TASTING NOTES:
Silver Level first. The 2020 Le Pigole Montepulciano D’Abruzzo is from Italy, of course.
This wine shows fine structure to support juicy dark fruit flavors, with a savory cast to the spice and loamy earth tones. It is balanced and so nicely drinkable.
Next up is the 2018 Almadi Corvina, from Italy’s Veneto region.
Made from dried grapes, similar to Amarone, this delivers cherry, blackberry and plum flavors, with a warm earthy quality and grippy tannins.
Moving to Gold Level, we have the 2021 Luli Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands.
This expressive red delights with notes of strawberry, rhubarb, sandalwood, baking spice and black cherry, with hints of earth and dried herbs.
Finally, you’ll also love the 2019 Montagne Russe Birchbark Pinot Noir, also from the Santa Lucia Highlands.
Rich aromas include cherry, cranberry, cola, toast and vanilla. All of that follows through on the palate, with an appealing spicy character and suggestions of loamy earth. A beautiful Pinot.
Another great batch of Club Wines for you! Thank you SO MUCH, and have a wonderful September!
