Wine Club Newsletter July 2019

We are excited to announce the arrival of your July Club wines, which we will
describe in a moment. First, these few details:

Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines for FREE,
falls on Wednesday the 3rd, any time from 5-9. A great opportunity to pre-game
for your 4th of July festivities!

The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Jim Cox. Congratulations!

All right, here are the Silver Level wines:

First up is the 2016 Ritual Pinot Noir from Chile’s Casablanca Valley.

It is medium-bodied with remarkable floral, cranberry and raspberry aromas. In the mouth, bright fruit flavors with a wonderful texture and extraordinary acidity. Smooth and balanced with a silky, velvety finish.

Next is the 2017 Goldschmidt Fidelity Red from Alexander Valley, a blend of Merlot,
Petit Verdot and Cabernet.

Aromas of fresh blueberries and red cherries are rounded out by a dash of French vanilla.  The palate is fruit driven, with cherry, redcurrant, and plum. The wine is bright and well-structured with a supple finish.

Now let’s look at the Golds. Check out the 2016 Rex Hill Pinot Noir from Oregon’s
Willamette Valley:

It opens with heady, ripe fruit notes of black cherry, raspberry, black plum, red currant and blackberry. Floral aromas arise of lavender and violet along with tomato leaf, rhubarb and peppercorn with a hint of French Oak. The palate has impressive structure, balance, and acidity, with integrated oak notes and red and black fruit flavors. While drinking well now, this is a Pinot Noir built for aging and will grow more complex over the next 15 to 20 years.

Finally, we have the 2016 Treana Red from Paso Robles:

Brooding with power and finesse, this wine offers seductive aromas of cassis & oak that lead into flavors of rich vanilla, baking spices & black tea. Full bodied and rich with a beautifully balanced acidity, it will age gracefully for 10 -15 years. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah.
