Hello and Happy Spring!
Your Wine Pick-up Party this month will
on the SECOND TUESDAY, April 8th,
anytime from 5-9 pm. We’ll have both
the Silver and Gold level wines available
to taste, and doing so is free for you!
The Stock-up Days for this second
quarter fall on June 7th and 8th
(Saturday and Sunday), which is just
in time for Father’s Day.
Congratulations to our April winner of the
monthly free bottle, Kelly Young. Kelly, you may
choose any past or present Silver Level bottle.
Now for the wines, beginning with Silver Level:
The 2009 Three Rivers Cabernet Sauvignon
hails from Columbia Valley, and definitely
captures the concentration and character of
the vintage.
The bouquet is explosive with blueberry, cherry,
chocolate, currant and smoked meat aromas.
The palate is rich, luscious and supple. This a
wonderful example of Eastern Washington Cabernet.
The 2010 Patassy Pinot Noir comes from the
Green Valley sub-appellation of the world-
famous Russian River Valley.
The nose hits you with a burst of ripe
strawberry fruit accented by cherry cola
and a dollop of vanilla creme. The flavors
echo that in juicy, drinkable style, but
with enough acidity for food-friendliness,
plus spice and subtle floral and earth notes.
Moving to Gold Level, we start with the
2011 Jamieson Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon
from Napa Valley. Notes of toasted oak,
anise, chocolate and raspberry weave
into a seamless and silky blend that
finishes with waves of richness.
Next is a Super Tuscan called Ca’ Marcanda
Promis, 2011, from world-famous winemaker
Angelo Gaja. This wine is a blend of
Merlot, Syrah, and Sangiovese, and received
93 points from Wine Advocate:
“It is darkly concentrated with thick tones
of black tar, espresso, candied cherry, clove,
rum cake and bitter chocolate. Although it feels
broad and large in the mouth, the wine also shows
enormous elegance and focus. That inner opulence
is channeled into tight, sharp pulses that impact
the palate with grace and poise.”
That’s the saga for April. Hope to see you
Tuesday, 4/8, at the pick-up party, and of
course throughout the month!
