WINE OF THE WEEK:
Couple weeks ago we tasted a Napa Cab
from Ahnfeldt Winery – whose consulting
winemaker is the world famous Paul Hobbs –
and it impressed the heck out of us.
When told the regular price was such
that we could sell it for $50, we nodded,
as in, yup, that sounds about right.
When told the winery was closing it out
to the point where we could sell it at
half that amount, we jumped out of our
seats and bought everything they had left.
We’re talking about the 2011 Monticello
Vineyard Cabernet from Ahnfeldt:
With just a dash each of Merlot, Cab Franc,
and Petit Verdot, it shows rich, ripe dark
fruit, balanced with oak-derived accents.
Smooth tannins provide structure to hold
everything together beautifully through the
long finish.
It’s just $24.97/bottle, so come and get it!
WINESDAY TASTING EVENT:
This Wednesday, 10/8, we’re presenting
a cool opportunity to taste several
terrific wines from one of our vendors,
an importer/distributor named
Casa de Uvas (“House of Grapes”).
The tasting is available any time
from 5-9, and costs just $10.
If you like, all the wines will be
available to purchase on a presale basis.
