A SURPRISING WOW FROM CHILE:
We just tasted the 2011 Trile Carmenere and
were very pleasantly surprised. Why?
Because we are more often disappointed by
Carmenere than probably any other varietal.
And this is especially true of inexpensive ones.
Imagine our shock, then, to discover we
can offer this at just $6.97. And that it’s
this good.
There’s plenty of plum, cherry, and red currant
fruit on the nose, along with a savory herbal
component that is so typical of Carmenere.
That latter quality, though, plays a subtle,
supporting role on the palate, adding interest
rather than dominating. Lots of tasty juicy
fruit flavors echo the aromas, with very good
balance between the dusty tannins and just
enough acidity to add zest to the finish.
This little gem would work just fine at two
or even three times the price. At $6.97
it’s truly a fantastic deal.
Come try it!
WINESDAY FLIGHT:
This Winesday, 10/16, we are giving YOU
all the power. Which means for ten bucks
you can create your own flight.
Just choose any three different wines
from the 40 or so we have at the bar,
and enjoy a half glass of each.
Helluva way to enjoy Hump Day!
FOLEY WINE TASTING EVENT WITH SPECIAL GUEST!
As a family operation ourselves, we have
a particular fondness for family-oriented
wineries and wine companies.
Foley Family Wines is one such company.
While they are certainly not “mom and pop”
in size, their goal is to produce handmade,
highly individualistic wines from some of
the world’s greatest vineyards.
We think they do a pretty good job of that,
and we are proud to showcase several of
their wines this Friday, October 18th.
This tasting is just ten bucks, including
snacks, and the opportunity of course runs
any time from 4-10 pm.
Special guest Justin Sternberg from Foley
will join us in presenting these tasty morsels:
Sebastiani Chardonnay 2011, $11.97
-89 points Jim Tobin
Sebastiani Cabernet 2011, $15.97
-88 points Tobin Bros.
Roth Cabernet 2010, $22.97

Six different wines, three different
brands, and ONE consistent vision.
Come down and try these wines.
They’re not only delicious, they are
also tremendous values.
(These are now with a new distributor, which
is charging a LOT less for them. The Kuleto
wines in particular used to sell very well
here for about $35/bottle. At $22.97 they
are a STEAL!)
