WINE OF THE WEEK:
This WOW has been a huge winner here at NCWC for years, as a great everyday white.
And it’s especially popular this time of year, due to its phenomenal versatility on the Thanksgiving table!
The wine is the 2020 Villa Wolf Dry Riesling from Germany’s Pfalz region. It offers lovely flavors of peach and lime, with stony minerality and crisp, food-friendly acidity.
Even if you prefer reds during dinner, this wine makes a wonderful aperitif to get the party started!
This super tasty, versatile WOW is just 11.97 right here. Cheers!
MIDWEEK WINE FLIGHT:
For this coming weekend, Friday and Saturday, we’ve set up a killer Cabernet Comparison flight for you, featuring delicious Cabs from Napa, Sonoma, and Washington.
More details on that in a couple days. Here’s the scoop on your midweek value flight, featuring 3 gems for Thanksgiving. Just ten bucks to get a half glass each of these:
Villa Wolf Dry Riesling 2020. Crisp and food friendly, with peach & lime notes.
Chateau des Capitans Julienas 2019. Delicious Cru Beaujolais, your WOM described below.
Cass GSM 2018. Juicy, plush Paso Robles blend.
This flight is highly recommended, especially if you’re hunting for good value Thanksgiving wines. Come enjoy this Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday!
WINE OF THE MONTH:
Wowza, do we have the perfect November wine for you! It’s the 2019 Chateau des Capitans Julienas.
The grape is Gamay and the larger appellation is Beaujolais. But make no mistake, this is NOT the silly, tutti-frutti stuff called Beaujolais Nouveau. This is the real deal.
The wine garnered several 90+ point scores, including 93 points from James Suckling.
It is packed with juicy flavors of plum, blueberry and blackberry, showing impressive weight and concentration, plus firm tannins for structure.
This wine will be terrific for Thanksgiving, and it’s a delicious sipper all on its own!
Available now at NCWC for 16.97/bottle.
