WINE OF THE WEEK:
Over the last year one of the most popular wines
in the shop has been the 2005 Montagna Cabernet
Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
Since we first turned people onto this remarkable
wine, we have continually had to re-order it, each
time dreading the potential news that it would be
sold out.
Well, we just heard that it’s finally about to go
away for good. So we snapped up a bunch of
cases.
The good news? We were able to negotiate an
even better close-out price.
We’ve been selling this wine for 29.97/bottle,
and everyone who’s tried it agrees it tastes like
it costs at least twice that amount.
Well, you know how we are! When we get a deal,
YOU get a deal. So this amazing Cab is now 23.97.
That’s 20% off our already great price.
How about a brief description: the wine is richly
aromatic, with cassis, blackberry, boysenberry,
vanilla, leather, cedar, and earth. On the palate
there is rich, dark fruit, accented by notes of
coffee, tobacco leaf, earth, and oak. At ten years
of age, it is drinking beautifully, showing great
depth and complexity.
We have a bit on hand today, with our final shipment
arriving Friday. We urge you to take advantage of
this opportunity while it lasts, because it won’t last long.
WINEMAKER EVENT FRIDAY!
We have a very special treat for you this Friday,
January 15th. Owner/winemaker Skip Coomber
of Coomber Family Wines will be here to charm
and delight you while we pour his delicious wines!
Cost for this event is a mere ten bucks, and Skip
will be here from 5:30-9:30.
This winery is a small, boutique producer that has
managed to place its wines in some of Southern
California’s finest restaurants.
But that’s not all. They donate a minimum of 5%
of their sales to animal welfare organizations.
Pretty cool, right?
Here’s a look at the Coomber Family wines we’ll
be pouring this Friday:
Chardonnay Central Coast 2011, 17.97
Pinot Noir Central Coast 2012, 18.97
Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills 2013, 47.97
Cabernet California 2012, 18.97
Cabernet Rutherford 2012, 74.97
Come meet Skip this Friday, and give these a try.
We think you’ll be impressed!
