WINE OF THE WEEK:

If you like smooth, richly-flavored reds, then this WOW is for you!

It’s the 2016 “1448” red blend from ever-popular winemaker Jeff Runquist, a super
tasty bottle with swirling notes of black cherry, plum, vanilla, caramel, and subtle spices
that caresses your palate like velvet. Here are a few details:

Sometimes there’s too much good fruit to go around. After production needs are met for his single vineyard wines, Jeff assembles the best lots together to make the 1448 “house” cuvée, named after the winery’s elevation in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The exact blend varies from vintage to vintage (depending on the whims of Mother Nature) but is typically based on Petite Sirah (about half) with smaller portions of Barbera, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Carignane.

We normally offer this terrific blend at 15.97/bottle. But this week, through Sunday
the 20th, we have it for you at just 12.97. Come and get it!
