WINE OF THE WEEK:

Robert M. Parker Jr. has long been considered
the world’s most influential wine critic.

When he speaks, people listen.

So when we heard that he called one of
our wines the “Best Cabernet in the world
for $17,” we were pretty stoked.

Especially given that we sell it for just $11.97,
which is two cents cheaper than Costco, btw.

This, then, is your WOW: the 2011 Louis
Martini Sonoma Cabernet. This tasty bargain
combines fruit from the Alexander Valley and Dry Creek.
It’s full of plum and blackberry fruit, just enough toasty
oak, and round, fresh structure.

We will follow our devious practice of making
this wine available to taste all week!

WONDERFUL WINTER WINESDAY:

Okay, so things haven’t exactly been wintry
these last few days. The fact remains that
winter begins this Saturday.

Which means this Wednesday, 12/18, we
are offering a Winesday Flight of hearty
reds that will definitely help ward off a chill.
Which we may experience eventually. 🙂

Just ten bucks gets you a half glass
each of these:

Louis Martini Sonoma Cabernet 2011, $11.97
– described above

L’Aventure Optimus 2010, $39.97
– “Ripe dark berry and cherry aromas are complicated
by musky underbrush and anise. Round, juicy blackberry
and cassis flavors stain the palate, with juicy acidity
providing verve. Becomes spicier and more vibrant on
the gently tannic finish.”

“R” Petite Sirah 2011, $24.97
– Just a delicious mouthful of wine, so rich and
creamy, with full flavors of red and black fruits
that flow into those of mocha, chocolate and oak.

If this flight isn’t a great excuse for taking
