WINES OF THE WEEK:

Cheers to New Year’s! We of course are ready to help you celebrate
this festive occasion. If Champagne is your desire – and it should be –
we’ve got a wide range of options, including these two WOW’s from France,
covering both ends of the pricing spectrum:

First up is the 2015 Cremant Brut Rose from Michel Olivier – just a
fantastic value in French bubbles. It offers a lovely nose of raspberries
and floral hints. Flavors include raspberry and peach,pure and delicious,
with a fine texture. Just 15.97 here at NCWC.

But if you want to throw down like a baller, then how about the
2009 Cristal Brut Champagne? This stellar sparkler received sky-high
97 point scores from Decanter, James Suckling, and Wine Enthusiast,
which had this to say:

“This still-young wine has great depth and richness, a beautiful balance
between ripe fruit and crisp texture that make it alive, crisp and bright.”
