WINE OF THE WEEK:
Regular price, 19.97. But this week only, through Sunday the 3rd, just 9.97/bottle.
The wine is the 2017 Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
When we first tasted it, the first word that came to mind was “balance.”
Why? Because texturally, it somehow manages to be both creamy and crisp.
Because the oak is just right; not too much, not too little; pleasantly toasty but
not overriding the fruit.
As for the fruit flavors, they are a complex mix of apple, honeydew melon, pineapple,
and a subtle dash of lemon-lime. Nicely integrated and – here’s that word – balanced.
