WINE OF THE WEEK:First of all, we’re staying open this week! Hours from 11-6, Tuesday through Saturday. As with last week, we’re offering curbside pickup and delivery options, with delivery fees waived for most of North County. Just call us at 760-653-9032, and we can get you all set up. Stay safe and healthy, and let us know how we can help! Now for your WOW: We have another great one for you, the 2017 CS Cabernet from Washington. This wine received a stunning 93 point score from James Suckling: “This is brilliant, and as Cabernet Sauvignon goes, it’s a value that’s hard to beat! Classic black and blue fruits, damp earth, violets, and tobacco notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied effort that stays pure, impeccably balanced, and vibrant on the palate. It’s the real deal, and if it was from Napa, it would sell for 3-4 times the price.” Wine Spectator placed the wine at #49 on their 2019 Top 100. Here is their 91 point note: “Precise and vibrantly structured, with black cherry, espresso and spice flavors that take on richness toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2024.” Not bad, right? Especially when you consider this Cab is just 13.97 here at NCWC. Stop by or call for curbside pickup! 760-653-9032. SPECIAL NOTE FOR PARENTS: This note has nothing to do with wine, but parents with school age children might find it of interest: “Hello, my name is Wendy and I am an educator with more than 20 years experience, specializing in children K-5. I have been tutoring for the last two years one-on-one, and due to the coronavirus, I have had to adapt my lessons to online via ZOOM. My typical rate is $35 an hour, but as a service to the community, I would like to offer my assistance on a “pay what you can” basis. I can help with assignments set by your child’s school, as well as assist with children who are below grade level. Please contact me at wendyannehill@gmail.com if you would like to discuss options.”
