WINE OF THE WEEK:
J. Bookwalter has been a Washington favorite here for years, and their “Readers” series wines offer great value.
Like, for example, the 2019 Readers Cabernet, which received 90 points and an Editor’s Choice nod from Wine Enthusiast:
“Made with 15% Syrah and equal parts Petit Verdot and Malbec (5%), this Cab blend has aromas that pop, with notes of black fruit and a sprinkling of herbs. The flavors are plump and generous while showing the mid palate elegance of the vintage.”
We see this versatile red elsewhere at 26 bucks. But your everyday price here at NCWC is 19.97, and it’s worth every penny and then some!
WINERY TASTING EVENT!
This Thursday the 31st we have a Winery Tasting Event with special guests, snacks and raffle prizes!
The winery is Riboli Family, and the guests are portfolio manager Elizabeth Choate and the delightful Cathryn Vanettes.
They will bring tasty snacks to share and raffle off some goodies. These are the Riboli Family wines we’ll be pouring:
San Simeon Chardonnay 2018. 90 points Wine Enthusiast, buttery and rich.
Highlands 41 Black Granite 2019. Ripe blackberry, raspberry and spice notes.
Opaque Petit Verdot 2017. Dark and chocolaty, 91 points Wine Enthusiast.
Santo Stefano Cabernet 2018. Tremendous value in Rutherford Cab!

We’ll get this party started at 5 pm, and cost is $15. Feel free to join us any time between then and 7:30. We’re gonna have some fun this Thursday!
