WINE OF THE WEEK:
I don’t like to blow smoke.
Unless my shirt is on fire.
Fortunately, that’s usually not the case.
And it’s not the case as I write this.
So then, here’s some straight shooting:
This week’s WOW is the 2011 Tangley
Oaks Merlot from Napa Valley.
We’ll start with what it is NOT.
It is not Caymus. It is not Velvet Glove.
It is not Chateau Petrus. It will not
remind you of any of those.
What it IS, is a good every day drinker
at a fantastic price. It offers red berry and
plum flavors with a hint of espresso and herbs,
all cruising alongside smooth tannins.
I haven’t seen anyone anywhere carry this
at less than eleven or twelve bucks.
Our price is just $6.97.
We’re thrilled to be able to bestow this deal
upon you; just keep in mind that we only
have a few cases on hand, and when it’s
gone, it’s gone. Come try it!
WINESDAY FLIGHT:
